Lauren Araújo Foster is a Brazilian American mixed-media artist whose work focuses on dissecting American sociopolitical landscapes through scientific, folkloric, and religious lenses. Foster received a Bachelor’s of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in Studio Art, concentrating in Photography and Digital Art, from Boston College. She has been awarded the Allison R. Macomber Jr. Award (2023); Boston College Arts Achievement Award (2023); Jacques Salmanowitz Film Grant, Boston College (2022); 26th District Grand Prize, Congressional Art Competition (2018); 1st Place, State Fair of Texas (2017/ 2018); Gold Key, Scholastic Art Competition (2018). Foster has exhibited at the McMullen Museum of Art, Brighton, MA and in the Carney Gallery at Boston College. She took part in the Lesley University’s MFA in Visual Arts Fellowship (2025/2026), as well as the undergraduate fellowship program at Boston College, directed by Mark Cooper (ceramics, 2023). Foster has worked as an in-persona and remote studio assistant for Cooper, focusing on archival work and website management. She has also participated in the work-study program at Boston College (2019-2023), working in the dark room, digital labs, and the ceramics studio.
