Foster Volume I
For years, my family has been interested in creating online family trees online, sharing photographs, and connecting with “new” relatives. While being just as fascinated with my ancestry, I wanted to create a more engaging way to document my family’s history. Within three generations, stories and personal identities are forgotten to history, as we are reduced to mere faces and statistics. This book brings the humanity back to the nameless faces in our archives. This project used digital mark-making and digital collages of found images to guide viewers through a fifty page narrative about the Foster family through the eyes of an anonymous federal agent.
